Welcome to the world

Welcome to the world
seen through our eyes
We are a grass roots travel guide magazine, independently and locally owned, covering all things Patagonia. We are Chile's most widely read English-language mag. We publish eight issues per year coinciding with Pataonia's high season.
Our web site community, with up-to-the-minute info gives travellers like you a space to share experiences.
Black Sheep was started in 2005 by Rustyn Mesdag and Pilar Irribarra in Puerto Natales, Chile. The idea was to make a simple little paper to satisfy a growing need of local information in travelers and tourists, with a few basic pieces of information. Today five years later, with Jose Ignacio Blavi Aros leading Black Sheep, we can be found from Tierra del Fuego to Puerto Varas, including Santiago, Buenos Aires and in other countrys such as USA (New York - California - Alaska), Australia, New Zeland, Germany and England. Covering everything Patagonia.
With help from locals and ex-pats living in all these Patagonia cities & pueblos, we have accumulated the best tips, tricks and insiders information for discovering Patagonia. The Black Sheep would be nothing without the support of travelers it serves. Travelers supply us with the best information about Patagonia trekking routes, kayaking tours, hotels, hostels, climbing permits for Torres del Paine and more.
WE are a travel Magazine covering all things Patagonia.
We are travelers, we recycle. We pick up trash that isn’t ours.
We belive in being part of the solution, not the problem.
We belive we can Change the world, we belive in Robin Hood.
We belive you should love what you do, or stop.
WE ARE MORE THAN A MAGAZINE, WE ARE A MOVEMENT, THATS ALL ABOUT HELP WHILE YOU TRAVEL THROUGH PATAGONIA
We are ex pats and locals. We are travellers and we've put down roots in Patagonia.
Living at the extreme tip of South America is hard. Traveling here isn't any easier. We created Black Sheep to share information with fellow travellers and help you plan the next adventure to the bottom of the world.
We believe in counting experience by blisters, not by years. We sleep in tents and camp in bad weather. We believe in river crossings and in getting dirty.
We climb hills for sunrises, not just sunsets. We paintwith bold strokes. We Recycle. we pick up trush that isn't ours. We believe in being part of the solution, not the problem.

What motivate us
We Belive we can change the world. We believe in the road less traveled. We believe in alternative power. We believe in nature remaining open for everybody. We believe in conservation and follow the principles of Leave No Trace. We believe in live outdoor music. We belive in helthy living and organic food. We belive in volunteering. We believe you can make a difference. We believe that the state of the world too screwed up to ignore anymore.
We believe in Robin Hood. We believe deep breaths outside. We believe in the golden rule. We believe in testing the boundries. We believe in sharing good advice and in the power of word of mouth. We believe in helping people get out of the office. We believe you should love what you do or stop.
We believe that in life what you pack in you will always pack out. We believe travel is about experience culture, living like locals, respecting Pachamama, and going back home changed (or not returning home at all). We believe travellers abroad are the best representatives of their countries, and we should be united.
We make a difference and we know you can join us.
